My Review of the Hamilton Beach The Scoop Single Serve Coffee Maker
Introduction
This is the Hamilton Beach “The Scoop” Single Serve Coffee Maker that has graced my kitchen for about 3 years now. In comparison to the wildly popular Keurig machines, its holds its own as far as I’m concerned. I had grown weary of purchasing and disposing countless coffee pods, I decided to take the plunge into the world of Hamilton Beach. After all, their reputation seemed pretty favorable, at least in the Amazon reviews .
So here I am, ready to share my thoughts and experiences. Giving up the Keurig was no problem, Hamilton Beach’s simple little “The Scoop” quickly made me realize that there’s more to single-serve coffee makers than just pods and convenience.
What I Like About The Scoop
Use any coffee
No pods to worry about. That speaks for itself. But if you want to use a pod you have laying around you can, just open the pod, and pour the coffee into the mesh scoop filter thing. See the video for detail
Easy to clean
This thing does not generate a bunch of trash like pods do. When your done brewing you just dump out the grounds into the trash or your garden, and rinse the parts, I clean this thing every time I use it because it’s easy. There are three parts to rinse. They aren’t attached, they just come out and go under the sink.
Small and looks nice!
Hey for less than $50 you get some stainless steel trim! Yeah its just for looks, but it look pretty good! This thing takes up very little space compared to my old version 2 Keurig. It’s narrow and light.
Conclusion
I like this coffee maker, and I’ll keep using it. I only need one cup at a time so it’s perfect for me. If I have a pod and want to use it, I just open it up and dump it out into the stainless steel mesh scoop, and it comes out fine.
